Yasu Michino, founder and leather goods designer works and live in Paris since 20 years. His experience working with numerous luxury French maisons, many of them who manufacture their collections in Florence, Italy has given the reason why Michino is also produced in Florence. After the creative design phase in Paris and building on the relationships that Yasu has built over his career, Michino bags are made in Italy in the same factories as the luxury maisons.
Each bag is made carefully by hand one by one in the atelier by some of the most skilled craftsmen in Florence. The traditional Italian leather goods savoir-faire are passed down from one generation of artisans to another and each process is carefully monitored by craftsmen who have honed their skills over years of experience.
Michino leather goods are the result of Parisian creativity and the best of Italian craftsmenship.

Quality of each bag starts from the quality of the
materials and how they have been prepared and
assembled. Materials that we do not see from the
outside and how they have been constructed inside
can be just as important as they play an important
role in the visual aspect of the finished product.
We carefully select the each material that come
from some of the best tanneries in Italy or in France
and we choose the each article that correspond the
best to match the designs of our goods.
SMOOTH CALFSKIN
Our smooth calfskin has been developed exclusively for Michino by our Italian tannery in Santa Croce sull'Arno near Florence. The smooth leather is necessary for the digital SALUT print. We developed this article with our supplier to achieve a silky touch while allowing to have a solid surface to adhere well the pigment of our prints. Very often, digital prints on leather leaves a very dry surface. We worked with our supplier to create our special smooth calfskin that is not even after the printing process.
GRAINED LEATHER
We use exclusively grained leather that have a uniform medium grain with a certain thickness to achieve a rich consistence that give a structured body to our bags while maintaining certain softnesss. They give a classic timeless look. Scratch-resistant, our grained leather is sourced from the tannery Remy Carriat, one of the best tanneries in France.

Excellence comes from small detail. We pay special attention to every detail, whether it be metal pieces or the last stitch to stitch the bag. We strive for the best quality we can achieve, all our metal pieces are made specially for our bags to custom fit our designs. We pay attention to how we source our components and materials, we care about the working conditions at our factories, we prefer to source from nearby suppliers in order to minimize carbon foot-print. We pay attention to details that are not visible that can also make big impacts to the finished aspect of the bags.
